This blue eyed boy is named after Sinatra. He is a heartthrob, alright, but his name should have been Houdini. Frank will sidle up and steal your heart. And anything edible you might have on you. And anything inedible. And if you happen to be standing on the other side of the fence, he'll just pop on over... no big deal. He's Frank.
Frank left us on January 19, 2019. He was a BIG personality and will leave his buddy Sherman Goat without somebody to snuggle with on those chillier Hawai'ian nights. Frank had to be humanely euthanized after all treatment options for a condition called obstructive urolithiasis. If you are unfamiliar with this condition, find out more here. Wethers (castrated males) are particularly at risk for this condition, and it is caused by mineral deposits in the bladder and urethra that do not allow urine to pass out of the body. If you keep goats, please take the time to inform yourself about this potentially lethal disease so that you can manage goat diet to reduce likelihood of this condition, and seek treatment immediately upon recognizing the symptoms. Bella is cranky beyond measure. We can only assume that she was tied out for many years before she reached us, and has arthritis in her hind legs from getting caught up in her tether, and ears ripped up from interactions with unfriendly visitors... Even though now she can stroll out to her pasture, and recline on her bench in the sun, she still has some baggage. Though she is likely the most curmudgeonly critter we have ever met, we can't even begin to express how happy it makes us to give this grumpy old girl a peaceful place from which to spread her peevishness.
Bella left us when it was discovered that she had a large, inoperable, cancerous mass in her abdomen. Rascal
